Competitive Programs and Teams

Competitive Programs and Teams with BYS

Competitive Soccer is for players ages 7-19.  Competitive Soccer includes teams and programs that are based on player evaluations and competitive try-outs.  BYS competitive soccer has two different levels.

{    · Extreme Futbal Academy (EFA).  EFA is considered more advanced training and requires a larger commitment by players who want to train nine months out of the year and travel to 4-5 large overnight metro tournaments. Practices are 2 to 3 times per week in the spring and summer and once a week in the winter. Registration fees do not include travel expenses which may include lodging, meals and transportation costs.

{   · United. United plays neighhboring clubs and/or participates in tournaments during the season.  Practices are 2 times per week once outside play is feasible.  Beginning players may start on United and work their way up to EFA or decide to continue on United.  Registration fees do not include travel expenses which may include lodging, meals and transportation costs.

Competitive Player Evaluations Explained

1.     A $25 Player Pass is required for player evaluations (which start in late summer each year) and allows an individual to participate in practice and competitive play.

2.     After player evaluations coaches will place players on teams and fill team rosters.   If a team roster is filled up, unplaced players keep their Player Pass privileges and may be called to play at a tournament or game.  (A Player Pass also allows a player to train with a team during the season and/or to guest play for other BYS teams or other teams in Minnesota at the player's age and competitive level.)

3.      Coaches will contact players and invite them to join the team they've been placed on.

4.     If a player accepts the invitation, the players/parents are billed for the registration fee associated with their team roster.

5.    Coaches for each team will then communicate the training and tournament schedule throughout the season.

6.       A “Late” registration is for Players who miss the Evaluation and Team Selection period.  These players could be subject to a $50 late fee unless they are a new player to BYS soccer.  Parents must contact the registrar to get the player registered.  If a team still has open spots, the player will receive an invitation to a team.  If a player accepts the invitation, the players/parents are billed for the registration fee associated with their team roster.

Registration Fees:

United U10-U19 $175
Extreme U10-U19 $300

Families who qualify for free or reduced school lunch may request financial aid for 50% off registration fees.  ***Deadline has passed for this season***

All payments are paid online at http://www.bemidjiyouthsoccer.org/  Once an account is created; your account profile is saved on a secure server for future reference.
