Competitive Programs and Teams with BYS

Competitive Soccer is for players ages 8-19 and registration opens at the end of July every year.  The competitive season runs from August 1st - July 31st each year.  Competitive Soccer includes teams that are formed based on birth year and player evaluations.   Player evaluations will take place during the school season for older players and during the indoor training sessions for younger players.

{    · Extreme Futbal Academy (EFA).  EFA is considered more advanced training and requires a larger commitment by players who want to train for up to nine months out of the year and travel to 4 large overnight metro tournaments.  Practices are 2 to 3 times per week in the spring and summer and once a week in the winter. Registration fees do not include travel expenses which may include lodging, meals and transportation costs.

The US Club season is from August 1st - July 31st.    We start indoor practice at the end of October and practice until Thanksgiving and take the rest of the year off.  We start indoor practices again the first Sunday of January.  Winter sports that are in season come first and we understand if they are not able to make practice while playing another sport (basketball, hockey, curling etc)  We just ask that during the outdoor season for soccer (May - July) that they put soccer above any winter sports that may have options during the spring and summer

Extreme Youth Academy (U10 players and younger) (birth years 2014- 2016)
The Academy philosophy focuses on the complete development of each player and provides an environment for boys and girls to learn through playing. The Academy Program emphasizes the process of technical development and gradual tactical understanding.
We feel the club should provide a variety of programming options for their players when they can including recreational and competitive play and that the Academy Program provides both the flexibility and structure to create a special program for boys and girls U10 and under.

Program Goals
  • To emphasize player development over team development and focus on the technical development of each child without the pressures of short-term wins/losses/results.
  • To develop ball skill and decision making in the game. To create a fun and dynamic atmosphere for players.
  • To help educate parents on how to understand the sport and their role as a support of their child’s development.
  • To prepare younger players for the eventual transition into competitive select soccer.
  • To help reduce travel and lower the expense for younger players and their families (you decide how many tournaments you want to attend)
  • We will divide players into teams for each tournament, the teams may not stay the same for each tournament.  The Academy philosophy is to learn to play soccer as an individual and as a member of a team not focusing on wins and losses

Training sessions:

Keep kids moving and work on technical skills.  Some tactics may come into play with players that are ready for that.  Practice to game ration should be 2:1 .

Registration Fees:  Total of $400.00 ($50.00 discount for early bird registration )  (plus the cost of your uniform, shorts and socks.  We use the uniforms for 2-seasons and will be purchasing new uniforms for the 2023-2024 season)
